PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – An extremely rare blue rock thrush native to Asia has made an unexpected appearance in the Portland area, drawing excitement from local birdwatchers and conservationists.
The sighting marks only the third recorded occurrence of the species in the region, according to Mike Maskell, conservation director at the Bird Alliance of Oregon. The bird has recently been observed spending time along the Columbia River and the Columbia Slough in North Portland.
