Cascade Sports Car Club’s Ultimate racer’s weekend was held September 19th – 20th at Portland’s favorite city park. The combination sprint race and endurance race weekend saw a nice field of cars. The largest class was PRO3, where 30 of them took the green flag on Saturday, with many sticking around to race the endurance portion on Sunday.
The green flag dropped on the 2, 4, and 6 hours of endurance racing on Sunday morning where func_motorsport in their BMW 330 nailed the LeMans start and battled all day with a fellow BMW. They ultimately six hours later secured back-to-back enduro wins which also made it three out of the last four years standing atop the podium. Congratulations, func_motorsport on another well-deserved victory! Even though they weren’t the fastest car on track, their quick pit stops proved that endurance racing is a team effort, and gaining time in pit lane is just as important as being fast on track.
