PASCO, Wash. — The Washington Music Education Association (WMEA) is gearing up to confer a distinguished honor upon James Bennett, the highly regarded band teacher at McLoughlin Middle School, on February 16.
James Bennett will be formally inducted into the prestigious WMEA Hall of Fame, an exclusive recognition reserved for educators who have showcased support, inspiration, and made significant contributions to the advancement of music education within the state of Washington.
WMEA pays tribute to its Hall of Fame inductees by engraving their names on plaques, which are prominently displayed on the WMEA Wall of Fame. The induction ceremony for new Hall of Fame members is a highlight of the WMEA State Conference, taking place every even-numbered year, with a maximum of 10 inductees selected once every two years.
Julia Dudley, Principal of McLoughlin Middle School, expressed her admiration for James Bennett, stating, “James Bennett radiates a contagious optimism that uplifts his students and colleagues, making him a natural leader within the school community. He goes above and beyond to build lasting relationships and support his students’ musical growth, fostering an environment of enthusiasm, fun, and positivity that resonates throughout the entire band program.”
