Portland man who shot and killed neighbor’s pit bull gets federal prison term

A 54-year-old Portland man who shot and killed his neighbor’s dog was sentenced Thursday to four years in federal prison for being a felon with a gun. Freddie Cleveland Ross Jr. pulled out a .45-caliber pistol and shot the pit bull in the head after the pit bull and his dog began barking at each other, according to police and prosecutors.
