Arrest made in fatal shooting near Northeast Portland MAX stop

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOI N ) — A man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a fatal shooting near a Northeast Portland MAX stop on Thursday night.

Just before 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the MAX Blue Line stop near East Burnside and East 148th Avenue on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man dead at the scene.

Officials say they detained, then later arrested 42-year-old Felix Juarez-Perez in connection to the shooting.

He was taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.

No further information, including the identity of the victim, has been released at this time.
