Giant Pumpkin Regatta returning to Tualatin Sunday

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Paddlers will be in for a “gourd” time when they hop in a giant pumpkin and paddle straight for the finish line at this year’s West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta .

The annual fall tradition is returning to the Lake of the Commons Sunday morning, where people will be hollowing out the huge pumpkins and fans will cheer on their favorite racers.

Additionally, people can try out other unique activities, such as pumpkin bowling, pumpkin golf and even pumpkin checkers.

Free transportation will also be provided by the City of Tualatin in the form of a Pumpkin Express shuttle from various locations. What’s more, there’s even a free bike valet.

While the event itself begins at 10 a.m., the races start at noon and 2 p.m.
