PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — As the election nears, candidates in both Oregon and Washington continue to stump for every single vote in what are expected to be tight races.
Washington 3rd District US Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez was out Sunday seeking votes for her rematch against Republican Joe Kent.
“You do not get good legislation without having people who are driving trucks and turning wrenches and changing diapers at the table,” Perez told a group of people at Sunday rally. “We are necessary.”
A KOIN 6 News crew went to a Joe Kent public rally but campaign officials told the crew to leave.

In Portland, mayoral candidate Mingus Mapps was out canvassing Sunday.
“Each vote is going to be very critical,” Mapps said. This year, the Portland mayoral race will use ranked choice voting to determine who will emerge from the 19 candidates.
