According to a first batch of votes reported by the Clackamas County elections office at 8 p.m. election night, Tuesday, Nov. 5, incumbents Mary Baumgardner and Carol Bryck led the race for West Linn City Council with 45% and 37% of the vote respectively, on track to defeat Mark Perlman who had 17.9% of the vote.
Mayor Rory Bialostosky, who ran uncontested, is well on his way to a second term with 100% of the vote.
“I’m grateful for the support of the public and I’m excited to get to work and continue getting things done for the community,” Bialostosky told the Tidings on election night. “One of my big focuses will be turning toward the legislative session coming up early next year and trying to get some funding for Highway 43 and adopting the waterfront vision plan and Vision43 in the next year. It’s an honor to serve my hometown in this capacity.”
Bryck also expressed an eagerness to continue working with her council colleagues.
“I’m really happy. I hope it holds,” she told the Tidings. “I’ve really enjoyed my time on council and I’ve got some projects and things that I’m working on that I want to see through, particularly on vision 43.”
