PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — In an effort to help more pets find loving homes for the holiday season, the Oregon Humane Society is reducing adoption fees for all pets one year and older for the whole month of December.
Starting Sunday, all adoptions will be 50% off as a part of the shelter’s “Adopt Joy” promotion.

“Giving a home to a pet in need is one of the best ways to bring joy into your life,” says OHS’s Laura Klink. “Our goal is for as many pets as possible to start 2025 in a new home.”
The shelter says all adoptions will include up-to-date vaccines, spay/neuter services, microchip, as well as a certificate for a free health exam.
The adoption promotion will be at both Portland and Salem locations.
While both campuses are open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, they will close at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and be closed Christmas Day.
