Man who helped hide, burn body of murder victim in Portland gets probation

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – A man was sentenced to probation on Thursday for helping to move and burn the body of a man murdered in 2018 in Portland.

Samuel Herrera, 34, was sentenced to three years of probation for his role in the death of 28-year-old Andrew Hathaway.

According to the district attorney’s office, Herrera witnessed the stabbing and beating of Hathaway, then helped load his body into the trunk of a car which he helped set on fire:

On Wednesday, the man convicted of killing Hathaway was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 26 years…
