On Monday, March 17, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) requested Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) assistance in locating a vehicle stolen following an armed carjacking.
The victim had been pistol-whipped and held at gunpoint in Portland before two suspects stole his Audi, along with his phone that was still inside the vehicle. The victim and PPB began tracking the phone’s location, which led officers to the Safeway on Northeast Highway 99 in Clark County, a social media post by CCSO stated.
CCSO deputies took strategic positions while a drone located the stolen Audi in the parking lot, alongside two males inspecting the engine. Due to the violent nature of the crime, deputies requested armor before initiating a high-risk contact, CCSO stated.
