PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Although the potential opening of a Gresham In-N-Out Burger isn’t on the immediate horizon, the early planning stages for the drive-thru have moved forward.
The California-founded burger chain submitted the pre-application for its proposed location on 1979 NE Burnside in early February. The City of Gresham’s Urban Design & Planning office filed the pre-application summary earlier this month.

In-N-Out would take over the Shari’s space that shuttered along with the family-run restaurant chain’s other Oregon eateries in October . The burger company’s proposal calls for the demolition of the pre-existing building, as well as another 9,600 square feet of space in the Oregon Trail Shopping Center.
Construction crews would then build a new, 3,886-square-foot restaurant and a 1,123-square foot area for outdoor seating. The drive-thru line would additionally require enough space for 37 vehicles…
