Oregon Winter Weather Alert: Up to 2 Feet of Snow Expected by Friday Morning

Medford, OR – A major winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of southern Oregon through Friday morning, with heavy snow and strong winds forecast to impact travel and daily routines across mountainous areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, the advisory covers regions above 4,500 feet in the South Central Oregon Cascades, including Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, and portions of highways 62, 230, and 138. The advisory began at 5 p.m. Thursday and will remain in effect until 11 a.m. Friday. Snow accumulations are expected to range from 8 to 15 inches, with localized amounts up to 20 inches, especially near Crater Lake.
