UPS to lay off 244 workers at Swan Island facility

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — United Parcel Service announced Friday 244 union workers will be laid off when they automate the Swan Island facility at the end of June.

The WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) was listed March 28, with the layoffs happening June 20, 2025. All are members of Teamsters Local 162.

The notification said it will be a “temporary closure” at Swan Island.
