West Vancouver home damaged in early morning blaze

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A home in west Vancouver was damaged after a fire broke out Sunday morning.

Just before 6:30 a.m., crews responded to the 200 block of Northeast 45th Street after a bystander reported flames coming from inside a home.

Authorities said the bystander had knocked on the door to alert the homeowners, but no one answered.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they worked to put out flames coming from the basement and main floor of the house. Crews also saw a hole in the floor and the stairs leading down to the basement had collapsed.

Firefighters knocked down the blaze from the outside and officials said the fire was under control within 45 minutes.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported, authorities said…
