PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Federal leaders want to offload a Downtown Portland property as soon as possible.
The General Services Administration added the city’s Gus J. Solomon U.S. Courthouse to its list of “assets identified for accelerated disposition” on Thursday. The agency first listed the 162,103-square-foot building as one of eight government facilities it could sell to save taxpayer dollars in December.

According to the previous announcement , offloading those “underutilized and underperforming assets” could free up around 1.5 million square feet in space and $2 billion in federal funding over a 10-year span.
Officials have since listed more assets that are up for “accelerated disposition,” with the first slate of properties revealed on March 21.
