Oregon man pleads guilty to slashing girlfriend’s throat in front of their 10-year-old daughter

MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. (TCN) — A man will spend time behind bars for cutting his girlfriend’s throat in front of their young daughter because he reportedly believed the victim was cheating on him.

The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office announced April 23 that Manuel Jesus Huchin-Interian pleaded guilty to second-degree assault constituting domestic violence. He faces 70 months, or five years and 10 months, in prison and three years of post-prison supervision. Huchin-Interian is scheduled to be sentenced on April 28.

According to prosecutors, on June 7, 2021, police responded to a home in Gresham after receiving multiple 911 calls, including from a 10-year-old girl who said her parents were arguing and “dad stabbed mom.” The defendant’s daughter reportedly said she retrieved a knife and tried to stab her father, but it was too dull.
