Man found guilty after deadly Portland road rage shooting in 2023

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – Following a mistrial in 2024, a verdict was reached Thursday in a deadly downtown Portland road rage shooting case.

According to court documents, a Multnomah County jury found Geoffrey Hammond guilty of second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder.

The road rage incident began October 9, 2023 , when Hammond was partially blocking traffic at an intersection outside of downtown Portland’s Moxy Hotel on Southwest Alder Street, where a man later identified as Ryan Martin pulled up behind Hammond’s car, according to court documents .
