Breakside Brewery Celebrates 15 Years + Grand Opening of Vancouver Location

Fifteen years ago, Breakside Brewery opened the doors to its first pub in Portland on NE Dekum. Since this time the brewery has expanded and currently operates six taprooms across Oregon, with a new one opening in Vancouver, Washington this week. Breakside Brewery has also went on to become one of Oregon’s most award winning breweries. Just this past week, the Breakside Brewery took home six awards from the prestigious 2025 World Beer Cup.

Over the next few weeks, Breakside Brewery will host a few events across the Portland metro area in celebration of the brewery’s 15th Anniversary. On May 13th, Breakside will host the Breakside Dekum Throwback that will be followed by Breakside Slabtown – Cheers to 15 Years! on May 14th. Then on May 15th, Breakside will be joined by Boneyard Beer that also celebrates 15 years this month for a Portland Pub Crawl.

But before these three days of events take place, Breakside Brewery will host the grand opening of its first location outside the state of Oregon. The brewery recently signed the lease to a new location in downtown Vancouver. It has taken over the space that was home to Locust Cider, the Gig Harbor, Washington based cider maker’s taproom that closed in December 2024. Locust Cider continues to make cider, but it just slimmed down the amount of taprooms it operated across the state and beyond…
