In response to your “Battle Ground students plead to preserve programs” article, I really feel terrible for the kids. I have worked for over 30 years as a registered nurse and, in my career, I have known probably three administrators who were practice-competent in the area that they were managing. Most were barely competent nurses who were moved to non-nursing roles. Others had degrees that had nothing to do with health care.
I feel that most hands-on nurses have a similar stress environment as teachers. Many staff nurses carried a serious disapproval for the management team. Teacher administrators are probably not that much different than any other administrator.
I was very sympathetic to this new levy, until I found out that the new multi-million-dollar building currently under construction is being built for the administrative staff…
