Honduran man in Portland gets over six years for fentanyl distribution offenses

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A 21-year-old Honduran man, who authorities say had been living in Portland illegally, was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for repeatedly possessing and distributing fentanyl in the city.

According to the Oregon US Attorney’s Office, Bexon Javier Calix-Rivera has been on the radar of investigators since January 2023, when he was first arrested after he tried to sell drugs to an undercover Portland Police officer.

During that arrest, investigators say Calix-Rivera was in possession of thousands of fentanyl pills, as well as “significant quantities” of fentanyl powder and heroin. He was booked on state charges and released the following day…
