PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A man suspected of burglarizing marijuana dispensaries in Portland and Bend allegedly tipped off authorities of his ties to the crimes during a recorded jail call, court documents allege.
Court documents filed Thursday in Multnomah County Circuit Court show 27-year-old Michael Kessler now faces several charges including burglary, aggravated theft, criminal mischief, unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of body armor and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
According to probable cause documents, on June 25, a Portland police officer helped the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and US Marshals with a search warrant for Kessler’s home along Southwest 26th Avenue, in connection to a marijuana burglary in Bend.
