VANCOUVER, Wash. (KATU) — Clark County has unveiled the results of its heat mapping project conducted in July of last year, identifying the hottest neighborhoods during different times of the day.
The project, similar to one previously carried out in Portland, involved more than 50 volunteers who equipped their cars with special devices to record over 102,000 temperature readings across the county.
The findings revealed that downtown Vancouver, Orchards, Fourth Plain, and Fruit Valley were the hottest areas in the afternoon.
