Sheriff: Man caught selling stolen tools on Facebook Marketplace, could be more victims

Deputies arrested a man accused of trying to sell several tools on Facebook Marketplace after he allegedly stole them from local businesses.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect called a local business and charged more than $6,300 in tools to the account of a drywall business, pretending to work for that drywall company.

“The fraudulent caller then told the employee that the people picking up the tools would use a verbal ‘password’ because the caller ‘didn’t trust anyone,’” the sheriff’s office said…
