PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities have identified the driver accused of hitting two pedestrians while fleeing from police in Portland’s Pearl District on Sunday.
Amin Noor Mohamed, 28, is facing charges of assault, recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving, DUII, failure to perform duties of a driver, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and attempting to elude police, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Around 1 p.m., police said officers spotted a stolen Kia near NW 9th Ave. and W Burnside St. and tried to stop it. The driver took off, and police said they did not pursue.
Mohamed then turned onto NW Glisan St., lost control and crashed into the pedestrians near 6th Ave, according to police. The pedestrians, who have not been identified, were rushed to a local hospital, where one was treated for minor injuries and another was treated for serious injuries.
Meanwhile, Mohamed was taken into custody at the scene of the crash, and is expected to be arraigned Monday afternoon, police said…
