Homicide suspect caught after fatal Foster-Powell stabbing

As Saturday night turned into Sunday morning, shortly after the official start of summer, there was a ruckus in the parking lot between “Bar Maven” and “Bodega PDX” in the 6200 block of S.E. Foster Road. A man was stabbed and fell to the pavement – and another man ran off.

The East Precinct officers who were dispatched to the incident at 12:26 a.m. found an adult male dead at the scene.

The victim of the murder was soon identified as 21-year-old Miguel A. Alvarez-Flores of Hillsboro. “The suspect or suspects left before police arrived, and no immediate arrests were made,” PPB officials stated at the time. But that didn’t mean they weren’t searching…
