Hopworks Brewery is saying goodbye to their Vancouver, Washington brewpub. The Certified B Corp brewery based in southeast Portland will close their Vancouver location after service on Saturday, August 9th as part of a strategic plan to refocus the business during challenging times for the industry.
Hopworks family-owned brewery had to make the difficult economic based decision to scale back their operations after the pub experience never fully bounced back since the pandemic. Instead Hopworks is working to revitalize their flagship Portland location with a fresh and expanded menu, and converting the bar area to host live entertainment, while maintaining the family-friendly restaurant side that has remained popular.
“Powell is the hub where Hopworks got its start, and it’s still where the brewing magic happens,” said Christian Ettinger, founder of Hopworks Brewery. “By pulling everything back to the mothership, we can devote more energy to our guests and this space, fill even more glasses with sustainably brewed beer, and continue to uphold our B Corp commitment to our people, our planet and our community.”
Guests visiting Hopworks on Powell will discover an array of new offerings, including a freshly expanded pizza menu, a new live entertainment stage featuring local musicians and performers, trivia and other in-pub events. The brewpub continues to be a go-to destination for families, with a welcoming play area, kid-friendly menu options, and a warm, welcoming dining experience rooted in the community.
Hopworks opened the Vancouver location in 2016 and expressed deep gratitude to the community for its support over the past nine years. “We are so thankful to the many Vancouver guests and team members who helped make our Washington outpost a welcoming neighborhood pub,” Ettinger said. “Vancouver has been an important part of our story, and we look forward to welcoming those guests back to our Powell brewpub. The community is also gaining a fantastic new tenant in our space. Watch for their announcement soon.”…
