Oregon solar company fined for safety violations in Vancouver, Washington

VANCOUVER, Washington – An Oregon-based solar panel installation company is facing fines for failing to protect its workers from fall hazards. The Washington Department of Labor and Industry fined Pure Light Power LLC more than $250,000 for the latest violations.

Washington law mandates that employees working at heights of four feet or more must have fall protection. Inspectors found two Pure Light Power workers removing solar panels to allow for a roof installation on a Vancouver home 15 feet off the ground without adequate protection.

Additional citations were issued to the company for ladder misuse, lack of training, and the absence of a written fall protection plan. Pure Light Power stated they are appealing the fines…
