Scappoose school board member resigns after teen’s fatal UTV crash sparks public outcry

A Scappoose school board member resigned last week, more than two months after a 17-year-old student died in a UTV crash that her parents have said occurred on the former board member’s property.

Branda Jurasek’s resignation came after sustained public pressure, including a petition and pleas on social media from the girl’s mother for her to step down.
