PORTLAND, Oregon — Portland Public Schools released students two hours early Friday due to warm weather, sparking frustration among parents who say the district needs to do more to prepare its aging buildings for the start of the school year.
Students began leaving Sabin Elementary in Northeast Portland at 12:30 p.m. Friday, one of more than 60 schools in the district without air conditioning.
