It’s time to say goodbye to Portland’s favorite polar bear — and hello to a new fluffy friend

Well, looks like we’re the lonely ones now — but not for long.

The goodbyes seem never ending at the Oregon Zoo. Earlier this month, Portland bid farewell to Amelia Gray, one of the city’s beloved polar bear sisters. Now, half-sister Nora is leaving the Rose City behind, too, and a new young bear is moving in.

Nora — once the subject of The Oregonian/OregonLive’s five-part series “The Loneliest Polar Bear” — will soon trade Portland for the Henry Vilas Zoo in Wisconsin, the Oregon Zoo announced Tuesday morning. She’s spent the past four years as a Portlander, taking residence in Oregon after spending time at zoos in Utah and Ohio, where she was born in 2015…
