Hillsboro woman, 19, charged with kicking officer at ICE protest

A Hillsboro teenager faces federal felony charges after authorities say she assaulted a federal officer outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Portland earlier this month.

According to federal prosecutors, Samuel Westcott, 19, was protesting outside the ICE facility on Oct. 12 when she refused to move for federal officers.

Authorities were attempting to clear protestors from the building’s driveway — a frequent occurrence at the facility to allow vehicles to enter and exit the compound — when prosecutors say Westcott refused to comply.
