PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A hiker is recovering after getting caught in a landslide near Ainsworth State Park on Thanksgiving, officials said.
On Thursday afternoon, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said the Portland Bureau of Emergency Communications received a call from a man who claimed he had fallen while hiking.
Officials said they learned that the man had hiked nearly a mile off the trail. When he tried to cross a creek, the ground gave way, causing a small landslide.
