The Portland State University professor put on leave after being captured on video self-identifying as a member of Hamas in June could sue the school, documents show.
Yasmeen Hanoosh, who teaches Arabic language and literature, claims the university’s reaction to a video clip of her saying “I am Hamas” and the decision to put her on leave were discriminatory and that her activity was protected by the First Amendment, according to a tort claim Wednesday signaling her intent to sue.
