PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A 78-year-old man is dead following a car crash into a construction trailer in Scappoose, but officials say his death may not have been caused by the collision.
Authorities responded to the scene in the area of SW Callahan and Old Portland Road on Tuesday and found the car smashed into the side of the trailer. Investigators said the car likely left the roadway and hit a mailbox before crashing into the trailer.

The man was extracted from the vehicle, but was found unconscious. Despite the efforts of medical teams at the time, the man died at the scene.
