Wind storm to hit W. Oregon on Christmas Eve, officials warn travelers hitting the roads

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — High winds are expected to sweep across Oregon from south moving north through the day on Christmas Eve, brining with them the likelihood of downed trees and power outages.

With Christmas Eve being a peak travel day, state officials are asking motorists to anticipate the storm and travel early as downed trees could put roads out of commission for most of the day or longer.
