BATTLE GROUND, Wash. (KATU) — Authorities have identified the pilot killed in a plane crash in Battle Ground, Wash., back in September 2025 as Kenneth Shaffer.
Shaffer, 76, of Trout Lake, Wash., died when his small plane went down in a field near Goheen Airport in Battle Ground on Sept. 26.
First responders with Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue responded to the crash. A crew arriving on scene approximately seven minutes after receiving the initial call reported seeing the single-engine plane fully engulfed in flames…
