New trial set for Horning’s Hideout murder after hung jury

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – After a judge declared a mistrial in November, a new trial date has been set for the co-owner of Horning’s Hideout, who is accused in the deadly shooting of his brother.

In late December, a Washington County judge set the new trial for October 27, 2026. The new date comes after a judge declared a mistrial because jurors failed to reach a verdict.

The case stems from January 2, 2024, when deputies responded to a reported shooting at the hideout on Northwest Brunswick Canyon Road in North Plains, where they found a man — later identified as 47-year-old Carl Horning — with multiple gunshot wounds.
