New recovery-focused overnight shelter opening on Portland’s central eastside

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland is opening its latest overnight shelter on Southeast Grand Avenue on Monday, which is specifically focused on recovery.

Transition Projects is partnering with the city on the shelter, which offers 140 overnight shelter beds, “for people who wish to get a safe night’s sleep in an alcohol- and drug-free environment.”
