People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is urging the Battle Ground Public Schools (BGPS) to adopt its own curriculum following the Dec. 26 arrest of Battle Ground High School student Trevor Ek, 18, who is charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty.
Ek allegedly told investigators he “enjoys killing small animals,” according to court records. Ek made his first court appearance on Dec. 29, following his arrest on allegations of first-degree animal cruelty.
Clark County Superior Court Judge Derek Vanderwood granted supervised release with Ek being prohibited from entering public parks and possessing a dart gun.
