MILAN, Italy — Four Oregon athletes are chasing their Olympic dreams at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. The competition kicked off last week and is nearly halfway through, with the Closing Ceremony on Feb. 22.
While two Oregon Olympians are scheduled to compete next week, several athletes have already appeared in their competitions. Here’s a look at how each athlete has performed so far, and what’s still ahead in Italy.
Jackie Wiles
Portland skier Jackie Wiles competed in three events — one of which landed her an Olympic medal!
The 33-year-old and her teammate, Paula Moltzan of Vermont, threw down a bronze-worthy performance in the women’s team combined event on Feb. 10. Wiles made a single run in the downhill while Moltzan did a run in slalom. Both placed fourth in their respective events. Wiles finished with a time of 1:37.04, and Moltza had a time of 44.87 seconds. Their tandem time of 2:21.91 was enough to earn a spot on the podium by a quarter of a second…
