A curving line outside the Voodoo Doughnut shop in Old Town Portland Saturday morning was filled with couples inching toward the pink entrance of the most quintessentially Portland place. Once inside, they considered vanilla classics and tempting heart-shaped Valentine’s Day confections.
Valentine’s Day is associated with sweets and romance, and for 23 years, Voodoo Doughnut has been a hot spot for lovers. More than 500 couples have been married inside the original shop in Old Town or other Voodoo Doughnut locations, according to the company.
