SNOW STARTED IN THE MOUNTAINS
Snow is already falling at the pass level and has been for the past few hours. Roads on the Cascade passes are starting to turn snow-covered, with temperatures at or below freezing, so snow is sticking. Snow levels are still mainly near the passes for now, so most lower elevations remain wet. But colder air will steadily move in through the day.
By late afternoon and evening, there will be more widespread showers, and snow levels will drop quickly, down to around 2,000 feet by evening, and even lower overnight.
By tonight, snow levels will fall to roughly 1,000 to 1,500 feet. That means accumulating snow is likely in the Coast Range, Cascades, and Cascade foothills. There is a strong chance mountain passes will pick up around 5 inches by tomorrow morning. The Coast Range and foothills could see a couple of inches as well. Travel over the passes will turn snowy and slick.
SHOWERS AND COLD AIR
Tomorrow will be chilly again and unsettled. There will be on-and-off showers through the day, and it will feel blustery at times. Snow levels will stay low enough that snow could mix in, but in the valleys, most showers will fall as rain. If you live above about 500 feet, there could be a light dusting. In town, any flakes that fall will likely melt on contact.

If roads are still wet, they could turn icy by morning. Even a light glaze could create slick spots on bridges, overpasses, and untreated roads. The morning drive could be slow in places. There may still be a few scattered snow showers early, but most will be light.
WATCHING POSSIBLE MORNING SNOW
Later this week, there will be another window to watch — especially during the Thursday morning commute. There is a growing chance of light snow in the lowlands, though most neighborhoods will likely see little to no buildup…
