Parents launch GoFundMe to fight closure of Vancouver’s Flex Academy

VANCOUVER, Wash. (KATU) — Parents of students at Vancouver’s Flex Academy have launched a GoFundMe campaign to hire an attorney in an effort to stop the school’s closure.

The fundraising page argues the district has not followed state law.

“Washington law does not permit a public school to be closed ‘for instructional purposes’ without advance public notice, public hearings within 90 days of a final decision, and a recorded vote in an open public meeting,” the page states…
