Woman arrested in connection with Elephants Delicatessen fire

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the fire that burned down Elephants Delicatessen’s flagship location in Northwest Portland on Tuesday morning.

Portland Fire & Rescue says Catherine E. Stough, 56, is facing charges of reckless burning and criminal mischief in the second degree.

Investigators say Stough used an open flame torch as a light source to look into a garbage can, “when the flame unintentionally ignited a combustible material inside.”…
