Portland restaurant caught in PCC strike controversy

A local restaurant faced backlash Wednesday after posting on social media that it was still open during the Portland Community College strike.

Mad Greek Deli’s west-side location, situated blocks away from PCC’s Rock Creek campus, was the scene of striking workers lined up outside the restaurant Wednesday afternoon.

Faculty and staff at PCC began striking Wednesday morning after months of protracted negotiations over salary and health care benefits. The 2,300 union members are seeking cost of living raises of between 6.5% and 8.75% over the remaining two years of their current contracts…
