BEAVERTON, Oregon — A Beaverton family that has spent years searching for a replacement gene for their son’s rare genetic disorder says they are seeing encouraging progress.

Linda and Tommy Pham say their 6-year-old son, Raiden, was diagnosed in 2021 with UBA5 disorder, a neurological disease affecting fewer than 100 children worldwide.
