PORTLAND, Ore. — On Wednesday, Portland police were dispatched to a mosque near Northeast 80th and Burnside, to reports of a man who entered the mosque during the end of morning prayers, and shouted threatening remarks to the congregants.
Although there was no physical altercation, and no one was hurt, the incident at Abu-Bakar Islamic Center left member of the mosque shaken and concerned. Leaders there said they’re actively reviewing and enhancing safety and security measures in response.
