Police arrest suspect in multiple violent incidents in Southeast Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. — Police have arrested a man alleged to have committed a series of violent incidents, including a shooting at an apartment complex in Southeast Portland last week.

Anthony Richardson, 51, was taken into custody early Friday morning when the Enhanced Community Safety Team and Special Emergency Reaction Team executed a search warrant at his apartment, according to a news release from the Portland Police Bureau (PPB). He was booked in Multnomah County jail on charges of second-degree attempted murder, unlawful use of a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.

The incidents began late on March 17. Police responded shortly before midnight to reports that a male suspect had separately assaulted two women in unprovoked attacks near an apartment complex at Southeast Ash Street near Southeast 124th Avenue.
