PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Portland woman was caught speeding and driving recklessly near a “notorious intersection” prior to hitting another car and crashing in Milwaukie, police said.
Portland resident Alicia Miesner, 31, is accused of hit and run and other charges related to the incident that happened on March 9.
I-5 reopens after early morning crash snarled traffic
Milwaukie police said an officer was conducting a speed enforcement mission on Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard near Southeast Ochocho Street, “a notorious intersection” for crashes involving cars and pedestrians alike.
The officer spotted a grey BMW going 87 MPH in a 40 MPH zone and attempted a traffic stop. However, the driver “made an illegal u-turn onto Northbound SE McLoughin Blvd at SE Milport St., struck another motorist, and accelerated North,” Milwaukie police said…
